Private garden on the edge of the North York Moors

With stunning views out from a south facing escarpment, this two acre private garden on sloping ground, presented some physical challenges as well as amazing design opportunities.

The family garden needed to tie in with upper and lower ground floor levels of a new-build property, address the need for safe access, maximise views out, maintain privacy and work with the best features of the existing landscape such as mature trees and hedges.

The design is set out with terracing and includes space for play, outdoor dining, food growing, water features, a fire pit area and a labyrinth, making the most of its unique and very special location in the North York Moors National Park.
